Brand Delphi
Track Rod Assembly is the complete steering track rod that links the front wheels across the axle, forming part of the steering linkage.

The assembly is a centre bar carrying a track rod end at each side; it transfers steering movement to both steering arms and sets the front-wheel toe. Supplying the rod complete with both ends restores correct steering geometry in a single part. The ball-jointed ends are also available separately as the short-arm end QFS000010 and long-arm end QFS000040.

Each track rod end is secured with nut ANR1000 (two required).

Frequently asked questions

What is the Track Rod Assembly and what does it do?
The Track Rod Assembly is the complete steering track rod that links the front wheels across the axle on the Land Rover Discovery 2. It carries a track rod end at each side, transferring steering movement to both steering arms and setting the front-wheel toe.
Do I need the full assembly or can I just replace the track rod ends?
You can replace just the ends if the centre bar is sound. The ball-jointed ends are available separately, such as the LH-thread end QFS000010 for the Discovery 2. The full assembly restores both ends and the centre bar in one part when the whole rod is worn.
What are the signs a track rod needs replacing?
Worn track rod ends typically show as steering play, knocking over bumps, uneven front tyre wear, or an MOT advisory on the ball joints. On the Discovery 2, a split ball-joint gaiter usually means the end has failed and the steering geometry needs resetting after fitting.
Is the track rod nut reusable when fitting this assembly?
Each track rod end is secured with lock nut ANR1000, and two are needed. Prevailing-torque lock nuts like these are typically single-use, so fresh nuts are the safe choice when fitting. A wheel alignment is needed afterwards to set the correct toe on the Discovery 2.
