Brand Hardy Spicer
Front propeller shaft in the drivetrain, transmitting drive from the transfer box front output flange to the front differential pinion flange.

The shaft is a balanced tubular assembly with a universal joint at each end and a splined sliding joint that accommodates the change in shaft length as the front axle moves through its suspension travel.

Worn universal joints or a dry, seized slip spline are the usual causes of driveline vibration at speed and a clunk as drive is taken up or released.
