Exhaust Heat Shield - a formed metal shield fitted in the exhaust system area of the underbody.
The shield sits between the exhaust and the adjacent body, chassis and floor components, reflecting radiant heat away from them and limiting heat transfer into the cabin floor and surrounding trim. It is secured to its mounting points on the underbody and must be refitted whenever the exhaust section it covers is disturbed.
