Lower Timing Chain for the 4.4L M62 V8 petrol engine.

Runs in the front timing case between the crankshaft sprocket and the intermediate sprocket, forming the first stage of the two-stage timing drive that in turn drives the camshaft sprockets. It operates against the chain guide rails and the hydraulic tensioner.

A stretched lower chain presents as timing rattle from the front of the engine, most audible on start-up, and as camshaft timing correlation faults. Renew the guides and tensioner alongside the chain.
