Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve for the 4.0L Cologne V6 SOHC EFI petrol engine.

The valve meters a proportion of exhaust gas back into the intake charge under engine management control, lowering peak combustion temperature and with it the formation of oxides of nitrogen. It sits between the exhaust take-off and the intake manifold.

A valve that sticks or carbons up typically shows as a rough idle, hesitation under load, or an EGR flow fault code.
