Frequently asked questions

What is the exhaust gas temperature sensor for?
The exhaust gas temperature (EGT) sensor measures exhaust temperature at the DPF and catalyst on the 2.2 Puma diesel Defender. The engine uses its reading to manage diesel particulate filter regeneration.
Where is the EGT sensor fitted?
The EGT sensor is mounted in the exhaust at the DPF and catalyst on the 2.2 Puma diesel. It's part of the exhaust and engine management system.
What are the signs of a faulty EGT sensor?
A failing EGT sensor triggers the engine warning light, DPF regeneration faults and sometimes limp mode. It's replaced when its readings drift or the sensor circuit faults.
Which vehicles does this EGT sensor fit?
This Genuine sensor fits the Defender (2007-2016) 2.2 Puma diesel, 90, 110 and 130 wheelbase, VIN from CA000001. Confirm your VIN before ordering.
