Crankshaft Oil Seal - Front seals the front of the crankshaft where it passes through the timing gear cover, retaining engine oil within the timing case and preventing leakage at the crankshaft nose.

It seats in the timing gear cover around the crankshaft front journal, directly behind the crankshaft pulley and damper, and is fitted to the 2.2L 16-valve turbocharged four-cylinder Puma diesel engine.

Replacement is normally carried out whenever the timing cover, front pulley or crankshaft damper is disturbed, as the seal lip hardens and loses its sealing contact over time.
