EGR Valve for the exhaust gas recirculation system. The valve meters a controlled portion of exhaust gas back into the intake tract to lower peak combustion temperatures and reduce the formation of oxides of nitrogen (NOx).

It is operated by the engine management system in conjunction with the EGR cooler, opening and closing to regulate the volume of recirculated gas according to engine load and temperature. Fitted to the 2.2 and 2.4 TDCi common-rail diesel engine.
