Engine Mounting Bracket for the 4.4L DOHC DITC V8 diesel, right-hand side.

The bracket bolts to the side of the cylinder block and carries the engine mount, transferring the weight of the powertrain into the chassis mounting point while the mount rubber isolates combustion and driveline vibration from the body. Because the mount locates on the bracket to a fixed geometry, a cracked or distorted bracket allows the engine to sit out of alignment and loads the opposite mount unevenly.

The bracket is normally renewed together with the engine mount it carries. Support the engine before unbolting the mount, and tighten the bracket fixings to the specified torque.
