Brake pad wear sensor for the rear brakes, forming part of the brake pad wear warning circuit.

The sensor is a wire loop carried in a moulded body that locates against the rear brake pad and plugs into the brake wiring harness. As the friction material approaches its minimum thickness the rotating disc contacts the loop and severs it, breaking the circuit and triggering the brake pad wear warning in the instrument cluster.

Because the loop is destroyed when it triggers, the sensor is a single-use component and is renewed together with the rear brake pads.
