Genuine: Original manufacturer part.
This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.
Fuel Vapour Valve (Purge Control Valve) - electrically operated solenoid valve in the evaporative emission control (EVAP) system.
It is installed in the purge line between the charcoal canister and the engine inlet tract. Under engine-management control the valve is pulse-width modulated to meter stored fuel vapour from the canister into the intake, where it is drawn in and burnt as part of the normal charge. When de-energised the valve seals closed, isolating the canister from the engine at rest and during the fuel tank leak-detection test.
For naturally aspirated 5.0L AJ133 V8 petrol applications. A valve that sticks or leaks internally typically presents as an emissions-related fault code, an unstable or rough idle, and a purge-flow or tank-pressure diagnostic failure.
