Throttle Body and Motor - electronically actuated throttle valve assembly for the engine air intake system, supplied complete with its drive motor.

The body mounts in the intake tract between the charge air cooler outlet duct and the inlet manifold. An integral electric actuator and position sensor set the angle of the throttle plate under command from the engine control module, metering the fresh air charge entering the manifold.

On the 3.0L V6 turbo diesel the throttle plate is not the primary means of load control. It regulates intake depression so that exhaust gas recirculation flow can be maintained across the operating range, and closes at key-off so the engine shuts down cleanly. A seized plate, worn actuator gearing or a failed position sensor typically presents as rough shutdown, EGR flow faults or a reduced power condition.

The unit is supplied as a complete assembly comprising the throttle housing, throttle plate, actuator motor and position sensor.
