Coolant Hose - moulded rubber hose in the engine cooling system of the 4.4 AJ-V8 petrol engine (220 kW EFI).

It forms one of the sealed coolant runs between the engine and the front-mounted cooling pack. The moulding sets the routing and bend radii so the hose holds its shape under system pressure without kinking or chafing against adjacent components.

Coolant hoses harden and craze with age and heat cycling, most often at the clamped ends. Renewing the hose while the system is already drained avoids a repeat loss of coolant shortly after the work.
