Air Bleed Hose - small-bore hose in the engine cooling system pipes and hoses assembly.

Vents air trapped at the high points of the cooling circuit back to the expansion tank, allowing the system to purge itself as it fills and warms through. A split, perished or obstructed bleed hose leaves air pockets in the circuit, which present as erratic coolant temperature and poor heater output. Fitted to the 4.2L AJ V8 supercharged petrol engine.
