Frequently asked questions

What is the ADL780010 raised air intake used for?
The ADL780010 raised air intake is a genuine Land Rover snorkel for the Discovery 3 (2005-2009). It relocates the engine's air intake from the wing to roof height, drawing cooler, cleaner air and reducing the risk of water being pulled into the engine during deep wading.
Where does the raised air intake mount on a Discovery 3?
On a Discovery 3, the raised air intake typically runs up the front wing and A-pillar, connecting to the standard airbox intake. It replaces the factory wing-mounted intake path, so fitting usually involves a grommet or opening in the wing top on most applications.
Does a snorkel help with water wading on the Discovery 3?
Yes, a snorkel raises the Discovery 3 air intake to roof level, which typically lets the vehicle wade through deeper water with less risk of drawing water into the engine. It also helps in dusty conditions by taking in air higher up, away from road-level dust.
Will the ADL780010 fit any Discovery model?
The ADL780010 fits the Land Rover Discovery 3 (2005-2009) only. It's a genuine Land Rover part matched to that body and intake layout, so it won't fit the Discovery 4 or earlier Discovery models. Check your model year before ordering.
