Swivel Kit - overhaul kit for one front swivel housing assembly. The swivel housing is the steering pivot at the outer end of the front axle case: it carries the stub axle and hub, and the axle shaft passes through it to the drive flange.
The machined face of the swivel ball forms the running surface for the swivel housing oil seal, so pitting or corrosion of that face is a common cause of oil weeping past the seal. This kit renews the ball together with the pivot bearing and the full sealing set, in the 8mm swivel seal configuration.
This kit contains the swivel housing ball, upper swivel pin, swivel pin bearing, swivel housing oil seal, retaining plate and shims, gasket, joint washers and a sachet of swivel housing grease. One kit covers one side of the vehicle.
