Frequently asked questions

What is the NRC1358 brake pipe and what does it do?
The NRC1358 is a pre-shaped rear brake pipe that carries hydraulic fluid from the axle-mounted T-piece to the rear wheel cylinder. It's supplied formed to the original routing with unions fitted and ends flared, so it follows the axle casing and locates in the standard clips.
Do I need to bend or flare this pipe to fit it?
No, the NRC1358 is supplied pre-shaped with the unions fitted and the ends already flared, so you don't bend or flare it on the vehicle. The braking system must be bled after fitting to remove air from the rear circuit.
Which Land Rover does this brake pipe fit?
The NRC1358 fits the Series III 109 inch models only, as the rear pipe from the T-piece to the wheel cylinder, across all engine variants. It doesn't suit the 88 inch models, so confirm your wheelbase before ordering.
Why do brake pipes need replacing?
Brake pipes typically need replacing when the steel corrodes externally, which can weaken the pipe and risk a fluid leak under pressure. A corroded or damaged pipe is a safety concern, so it's renewed rather than repaired, and the system is bled afterwards.
