Engine-driven vacuum pump for the 2.2L Td4/TDCi turbo diesel engine, mounted on the cylinder head and driven directly from the camshaft.

A diesel engine develops no usable inlet manifold depression, so the vacuum pump generates the vacuum supply used by the brake servo and the engine's vacuum-operated actuators. The pump is lubricated from the engine oil feed and returns oil to the cylinder head, so the mounting face and the oil feed connection must be sealed correctly on installation.

A worn or leaking pump typically shows as a hard brake pedal and loss of servo assistance, or as oil loss at the pump body.
