Rear Spring Pan - the upper seat for the rear road spring in the rear suspension spring and damper assembly.

The pan caps the top of the coil and transfers spring load into the body-side mounting, holding the spring square to its working axis. The rear spring isolator (MMD3565AA) fits between the pan and the coil end face to prevent metal-to-metal contact.

Pans corrode from the seat face outwards where water and grit collect against the coil. A distorted or wasted pan lets the spring shift in its seat, so it is worth inspecting and renewing whenever the rear springs are out.
