Front Coil Springs - standard ride height, standard load rating, supplied as a pair.

Part of the front coil spring suspension. Each spring seats between the axle spring seat and the chassis spring turret, carrying the static front axle load and setting ride height, while the damper alongside it controls oscillation.

Wound to the standard ride height and standard load specification, so the springs suit a vehicle running unmodified suspension geometry and standard-length shock absorbers rather than a raised or heavy-load setup. Coil springs should be replaced across the axle together so that ride height and spring rate stay even side to side.

Frequently asked questions

What do the front coil springs do on a Land Rover Defender?
The front coil springs carry the static front axle load and set the ride height on the Land Rover Defender. Each spring seats between the axle spring seat and the chassis turret while the damper controls movement. Supplied as a pair.
How many springs do I need for the front axle?
You need both front springs, and they're supplied as a pair here. Replacing coil springs in axle pairs keeps ride height and handling even side to side on the Defender, so fitting just one isn't advised.
Do these fit a Defender 90?
These standard front coil springs are listed for the Defender 110 and 130. The fitment data covers 110 and 130 for both 1986-2006 and 2007-on Puma models, so confirm your wheelbase before ordering.
What are the signs my Defender front springs need replacing?
Sagging front ride height, a harsher ride, or the vehicle sitting nose-down typically point to tired front coil springs. Cracked or corroded coils are also common on older Defenders and mean the spring should be replaced as a pair.
