PEM101050 - Engine Thermostat
The thermostat regulates coolant flow to the radiator, holding the engine at its normal operating temperature during warm-up and under load. It is supplied together with its housing, which forms the coolant outlet and the hose connections into the radiator and heater circuit.
The housing is a recognised wear point on this engine: cracking with age and repeated thermal cycling leads to coolant loss and overheating, so it is normally renewed together with the thermostat.
FREELANDER 1 2001-2006 — 2.5L V6 KV6 Petrol. Thermostat and housing assembly. Also used on Rover 45/75 and MG ZS/ZT with the same KV6 engine.
