Timing Cover Blanking Plug - threaded plug that closes an aperture in the front timing cover of the 2.0L Ingenium petrol engine (AJ200 / AJ20P4, also 1.5L AJ20P3), including plug-in hybrid applications.

The plug seals the opening in the timing cover casting and retains oil within the timing drive chamber. It is supplied with its O-ring, which forms the oil-tight joint against the cover face; the seal should always be renewed rather than reused, as a hardened or nicked O-ring is the usual source of a weep at this point.
