Water Valve - coolant control valve in the auxiliary fuel-fired pre-heater circuit.
The valve opens and closes the heater loop against the main engine cooling circuit, directing coolant through the fuel-burning pre-heater so it can warm the coolant and the cabin independently of the engine running. It is fitted only to vehicles specified with the fuel-fired heater (park heating) option.
A valve that fails to open leaves the pre-heater unable to circulate warmed coolant and the heater will shut down on over-temperature; one that fails to close allows heat to bleed away into the engine circuit, extending warm-up time.
