What are the signs a secondary chain tensioner is worn?
A worn secondary tensioner on the 4.4 V8 AJ typically causes a rattle from the top of the right bank, often loudest on cold start. Because it keeps the bank's secondary chain taut, a failing tensioner lets the chain slap and can disturb camshaft timing.
