Oil Separator for the crankcase ventilation circuit of the 3.0L V6 Diesel engine.

Mounted within the crankcase emission control system, the separator removes oil mist carried in the blow-by gases drawn from the crankcase. The separated oil is returned to the sump while the cleaned gases are routed back to the engine intake, maintaining crankcase pressure control and limiting oil carry-over into the intake tract.

Frequently asked questions

What does the oil separator do on the 3.0L V6 diesel?
The oil separator sits in the crankcase ventilation circuit of the 3.0L V6 diesel and removes oil mist from the blow-by gases drawn off the crankcase. Separated oil drains back to the sump while cleaned gas returns to the intake, controlling crankcase pressure and limiting oil carry-over.
Which Land Rover models use oil separator LR054999LR?
LR054999LR fits the 3.0L V6 diesel in the Discovery 4, Discovery 5, Range Rover L405, Range Rover Sport L494 and Range Rover Velar. It's the genuine Land Rover crankcase emission control separator. Confirm your engine is the 3.0 V6 diesel before ordering.
What are the signs the oil separator needs replacing?
A failing oil separator typically shows as excess oil carry-over into the intake, oil in the breather pipes, or crankcase pressure faults. On the 3.0 V6 diesel this can cause oil consumption and intake fouling. It's usually renewed when the crankcase ventilation system is serviced.
Where is the oil separator located?
The oil separator is part of the crankcase emission control system on the 3.0L V6 diesel, connected between the crankcase breather and the engine intake. It typically mounts on the engine and routes separated oil back to the sump. Access is from the engine bay.
