Camshaft Sprocket for the timing drive of the Ingenium engine family - the 2.0L and 3.0L diesel and 3.0L petrol units. Mounted on the end of the camshaft, it is driven by the timing chain from the crankshaft and fixes the camshaft's rotational position.

By transferring drive from the chain to the camshaft, the sprocket keeps valve opening and closing correctly phased with piston movement. Its teeth engage the timing chain directly, so sound sprocket condition is essential to maintain accurate valve timing.
