Front Crankshaft Oil Seal for the Ingenium engine family, sealing the crankshaft nose where it passes through the front cover.

The seal runs on the crankshaft snout behind the front pulley and damper, retaining engine oil at the front of the cylinder block. A hardened or worn lip allows oil to weep down the front of the engine and can contaminate the auxiliary drive belt, so the seal is normally renewed whenever the front cover, timing drive or crankshaft pulley is disturbed.

Fit to a clean, unscored crankshaft sealing surface and drive it square to the bore with the correct seal installer - the lip is easily damaged if the seal is fitted at an angle or over a burred shaft.
