Brand Autotec Components
Crankshaft Position Sensor for the 2.0L I4 8V TCIE Rover diesel engine (L-Series), mounted at the cylinder block within the crankshaft, connecting rod and piston assembly group.

The sensor picks up the reluctor teeth on the crankshaft and supplies engine speed and crank angle to the engine control module, which uses the signal to set injection timing.

Loss or degradation of the signal will normally prevent the engine from starting, or cause it to cut out while running.

Frequently asked questions

What does the NSC100110LA crankshaft sensor do?
The NSC100110LA is a crankshaft position sensor for the Land Rover Freelander 1, 1997 to 2006, with the 2.0 litre L Series diesel engine. It reads crankshaft speed and position so the ECU can control fuel injection and timing.
Which Freelander engine does it fit?
This sensor fits the 2.0 litre L Series (Rover diesel) Freelander 1 only. It isn't fitted to petrol Freelander 1 variants, so confirm your engine is the L Series diesel before ordering.
What are the symptoms of a failed crank sensor?
Crankshaft sensors typically fail through heat and age, causing non-starting, stalling, or erratic running on the L Series diesel Freelander. A common symptom is an engine that cranks but won't fire once the sensor has failed.
