Frequently asked questions

What does the GA1213 front hub bearing and upright assembly include?
GA1213 is a complete right-hand front hub bearing and upright (steering knuckle) assembly for the Freelander 2. The bearing is supplied already pressed into the upright, so no bearing pressing is needed during fitting.
What does the upright on GA1213 do besides carry the wheel bearing?
The upright locates the lower arm ball joint and upper strut mounting, and provides the mounting faces for the brake calliper and wheel speed sensor on the Freelander 2's front suspension.
Is GA1213 the right-hand or left-hand side, and does it fit all Freelander 2 engines?
GA1213 is the right-hand (RH) front side. It fits all Freelander 2 (LR2) 2006-2014 engines. Make sure you order the matching left-hand part, GA1214, if you need both sides.
Why does the Freelander 2 front hub bearing typically need replacing?
Wheel bearings wear from age and mileage, showing up as a grinding or humming noise from the front wheel that changes with speed, or play felt in the wheel when jacked up. GA1213 replaces the bearing and upright as one assembly rather than pressing a new bearing into the old upright.
