OEM: Made by an Original Equipment Manufacturer. This part is made by an original equipment manufacturer or under their license, ensuring compatibility and quality.
A/C Condenser Assembly sits at the front of the air conditioning circuit, mounted ahead of the radiator in the incoming airflow.

It receives high-pressure refrigerant vapour from the compressor and rejects its heat to the passing air, condensing the refrigerant to a liquid before it flows on to the receiver/drier and expansion valve. Fitted to restore cooling performance where the original condenser is corroded, blocked or leaking.

Frequently asked questions

What does the A/C Condenser do on a Freelander 1?
The A/C Condenser sits at the front of the air conditioning system on the Freelander 1 (1996-2006), mounted ahead of the radiator. It takes hot high-pressure refrigerant vapour from the compressor and cools it back into a liquid before it flows on to the receiver/drier and expansion valve.
Why does the A/C condenser fail?
The A/C condenser typically fails through corrosion, leaks or a blocked core, since it sits in the front airflow and takes road spray and stone damage. On the Freelander 1 the usual signs are weak or no cooling and refrigerant that won't hold. A corroded condenser can't be repaired reliably.
What else should be done when fitting a new condenser?
When fitting a new A/C condenser the system typically needs evacuating and recharging with the right equipment, and the receiver/drier is usually renewed at the same time. On the Freelander 1 this is generally a specialist job rather than a home fit because of the refrigerant handling.
