Inlet Valve for the cylinder head valvetrain of the 2.0L four-cylinder TCIE turbocharged intercooled diesel engine.

The inlet valve seals the intake port against its seat in the cylinder head and opens to admit the intake charge into the combustion chamber. Its stem runs in the valve guide and is sealed by a valve stem seal; the valve is held closed by the valve spring, collets and spring retainer, and opened by the camshaft through the valve train.

Because the valve, its seat and its guide wear as a set, valve seating and guide clearance should be checked whenever the cylinder head is dismantled.
