Breather Hose connecting the camshaft cover breather outlet to the inlet manifold on the 2.5L KV6 petrol engine.

Part of the crankcase ventilation circuit: it carries blow-by gases drawn from the camshaft cover into the induction tract so they are burnt in the combustion process rather than vented. Moulded to the routing used on automatic transmission installations.

Hoses in this position harden and split with age and under-bonnet heat. A split creates an unmetered air path into the manifold, normally seen as a raised or unstable idle.
