Crankshaft Position Sensor - engine management sensor located at the crankshaft, reading a toothed reluctor ring driven by the crankshaft.

The sensor supplies the engine control module with crankshaft speed and angular position, which the module uses to control injection timing and to detect engine rotation on cranking. Sensor failure typically results in a no-start condition, stalling, erratic idle or a crankshaft signal fault code.
