Brake Pad Set is a set of front disc brake friction pads for the front-axle braking assembly.

The pads locate in the front brake calipers and are clamped against the brake disc to generate the friction that slows the wheel. Supplied as an axle set covering both front wheels, and best renewed as a complete set with the discs inspected at the same time.

Fitting new caliper guide pins with the pads is recommended.

Frequently asked questions

What is the LR021899F front brake pad set?
The LR021899F is a set of front brake pads for the Land Rover Freelander 1 (1996-2006). The pads clamp against the front brake discs from inside the calipers, creating the friction that slows the front axle. Supplied as a set for both front wheels.
Should I replace the caliper guide pins with these pads?
Yes, fitting fresh caliper guide pins with the LR021899F pads is recommended on the Freelander 1. Seized guide pins prevent even pad movement, which causes tapered wear and can leave the brakes binding. Inspect the discs for scoring at the same time.
What are the warning signs of worn front pads?
Worn front brake pads on the Freelander 1 typically cause squealing or grinding noises, a softer or longer-travel brake pedal feel, and reduced stopping power. Running them down to the metal backing damages the discs, so check pad thickness during servicing.
