Thermostat and Housing for the 2.0L 16V Ti-VCT petrol engine, supplied complete as a sealed assembly. It sits in the engine cooling circuit and regulates coolant flow: it stays closed while the engine warms up so operating temperature is reached quickly, then opens to route coolant through the radiator and hold a stable running temperature.

A thermostat stuck open causes slow warm-up and persistent under-temperature running; one stuck closed leads to overheating. Renewed as a complete unit when faulty.
