Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) mounts to the cylinder block and reads the crankshaft trigger wheel to give the engine ECU crankshaft speed and angular position.

Fitted to the 2.2L diesel engine, its signal drives fuel injection timing and engine speed detection. A failing sensor can cause erratic running, misfires or a no-start condition.
