Crankshaft Position Sensor - engine management sensor for the 2.0L 16V turbocharged petrol engine.

The sensor reads the toothed reluctor ring on the crankshaft and reports rotational speed and angular position to the engine control module, which uses that signal to schedule ignition timing and fuel injection. It mounts against the crankshaft trigger wheel across a fixed air gap.

A failed or intermittent sensor typically presents as a no-start condition, a stall under load, or a stored crankshaft position fault code.
