Rear Brake Disc for the rear axle disc-brake assembly. The disc mounts to the rear hub and provides the friction surface that the brake caliper clamps through the brake pads to generate retarding force at the rear wheels.

This is a solid (non-vented) rotor, used where rear braking loads do not call for the additional cooling of a vented disc. For balanced braking, renew discs as an axle pair and fit new brake pads at the same time.

The disc carries a protective anti-corrosion coating on its non-friction surfaces (centre hat and outer edge) to resist surface rust in service; the swept braking faces clean up under normal use.
