Camshaft Position Sensor for the 1.8L 4-cylinder K Series petrol engine, part of the engine management sensor group mounted at the cylinder head.

The sensor reads the camshaft reference signal and passes it to the engine control module, which combines it with the crankshaft position signal to establish cylinder identification for sequential fuel injection and ignition timing.

A failed or intermittent sensor typically presents as a hot-start problem, a misfire, or loss of sequential injection.

Frequently asked questions

What does the NSC000310L camshaft sensor do?
The NSC000310L is a camshaft position sensor for the Land Rover Freelander 1, 1997 to 2006, with the 1.8 litre K Series petrol engine. It tells the ECU the camshaft position so fuelling and ignition timing stay correct.
Which Freelander engine does it fit?
This sensor fits the 1.8 litre 4-cylinder K Series petrol Freelander 1 only. It isn't fitted to diesel or V6 Freelander 1 variants, so confirm your engine before ordering.
What are the signs this sensor is failing?
Camshaft sensors typically fail with heat and age, causing misfires, stalling, poor starting, or an engine warning light on the K Series Freelander. A failed sensor can leave the engine running roughly or not starting at all.
