Brand Autotec Components
Crankshaft Position Sensor for the KV6 2.5L V6 petrol engine, part of the engine management sensor group.

Mounted facing the crankshaft reluctor ring, the sensor supplies the engine control module with crankshaft speed and angular position. The ECM uses this reference for ignition timing and injection sequencing. Specified for automatic transmission applications.

A lost crank signal prevents the engine from starting; an intermittent signal typically presents as cutting out or misfire under load.

Frequently asked questions

What does the NSC106100LA crankshaft sensor do?
The NSC106100LA is a crankshaft position sensor for the Land Rover Freelander 1, 1996 to 2006, with the 2.5 litre KV6 V6 petrol engine. It signals crankshaft position and speed to the ECU for injection and ignition timing.
Which Freelander does it fit?
This sensor fits the 2.5 KV6 V6 petrol Freelander 1 with automatic transmission. Confirm your engine is the KV6 V6 before ordering, as other Freelander 1 engines use different sensors.
What are the signs it needs replacing?
Crankshaft sensors typically fail with age and heat, causing stalling, non-starting, or misfires on the KV6 Freelander. If the engine cranks but won't start, a failed crank sensor is a common cause.
