Engine Thermostat and Housing Assembly for the 2.5L KV6 six-cylinder petrol engine, fitted in the engine cooling circuit.

The thermostat regulates coolant flow to the radiator, holding the engine at its normal operating temperature during warm-up and under load. It is supplied together with its housing, which forms the coolant outlet and the hose connections into the radiator and heater circuit.

The housing is a recognised wear point on this engine: cracking with age and repeated thermal cycling leads to coolant loss and overheating, so it is normally renewed together with the thermostat.
