Idler Pulley for the ancillary (auxiliary) drive belt system on the 2.5L KV6 V6 petrol engine.

The idler runs on a sealed bearing and presents a plain running face that routes the polyvee auxiliary belt around the front of the engine, holding the correct belt wrap and alignment across the ancillary drives. It transmits no drive of its own, so a dry or collapsing bearing announces itself as belt rumble, whine or squeal from the front of the engine rather than as a loss of charging or steering assistance.

Supplied as a single pulley. It is normal practice to fit a new auxiliary belt whenever the idler is renewed, and to check the remaining pulley bearings while the belt is off.
