Power steering hose forming the low-pressure supply leg of the power steering hydraulic circuit, running from the fluid reservoir outlet to the inlet of the power steering pump.

Fluid is drawn down this hose from the reservoir into the pump suction port, where it is pressurised and delivered onward to the steering gear. Because the line sits on the suction side of the pump, deterioration tends to draw air into the system rather than produce an obvious external leak - the usual symptoms are aerated or foaming fluid, pump whine and inconsistent steering assistance.

Moulded to a fixed routing so that it clears the ancillary drive and the air conditioning compressor mountings on the 2.0L four-cylinder eight-valve turbo diesel installation.
