Clutch master cylinder for manual transmission applications, forming the hydraulic input to the clutch release circuit.

Mounted on the pedal box and operated directly by the clutch pedal pushrod, the cylinder converts pedal travel into hydraulic pressure and delivers it through the clutch pipe to the slave cylinder, which disengages the clutch. Fluid is drawn from the reservoir feed. Right-hand drive applications, 1.8L four-cylinder petrol.

A cylinder that has begun to bypass internally shows as a clutch pedal that sinks slowly to the floor or that no longer fully disengages the clutch, often accompanied by fluid loss at the pedal box.
