Genuine Part
Genuine: Original manufacturer part. This product is the original part designed and produced by the vehicle manufacturer.
Exhaust Manifold to Downpipe Gasket - seals the joint between the exhaust manifold outlet and the downpipe flange on 1.8L K-series 16-valve petrol applications.

It maintains a gas-tight seal at the hottest joint in the exhaust system, where a failed seal causes an audible blow under load and allows exhaust gas to escape within the engine bay.

The gasket is a single-use item and should be renewed whenever the downpipe is separated from the manifold.

Frequently asked questions

What is the exhaust manifold to downpipe gasket?
The exhaust manifold to downpipe gasket seals the joint between the exhaust manifold outlet and the downpipe flange on the Freelander 1 1.8L K-series petrol. It holds a gas-tight seal at the hottest joint in the exhaust, where a leak causes a blow under load.
How do I know this gasket has failed?
A failed manifold to downpipe gasket typically causes an audible blow or ticking that's loudest under acceleration. The gasket sits at the hottest exhaust joint and hardens over time, so replace it whenever the downpipe is separated from the manifold on the K-series engine.
Which Freelander 1 does this gasket fit?
This gasket fits the Freelander 1 1.8L K16 petrol with manual transmission, from VIN 1A000001. It's a genuine Land Rover part matched to that manifold and downpipe flange, so confirm your engine is the 1.8L K-series before ordering.
