Brand Weber
Kick Down Kit - an accessory for the Weber four-barrel carburettor conversion (DA3049) on automatic-transmission vehicles. It restores the kick-down link between the carburettor throttle and the automatic gearbox, so the transmission downshifts on demand when the accelerator is pressed through to full throttle.

Required only where the four-barrel conversion is fitted to a V8 with automatic transmission, replacing the original kick-down connection that suited the factory carburettors.

Frequently asked questions

What does the kick down kit do?
The kick down kit restores the kick-down link between the carburettor throttle and the automatic gearbox after the Weber four-barrel conversion (DA3049) is fitted. It lets the automatic transmission downshift on demand when you press the accelerator through to full throttle.
When do I need this kit?
You need this kit only where the Weber four-barrel conversion is fitted to a Rover V8 with automatic transmission. It replaces the original kick-down connection that suited the factory carburettors, so manual-gearbox vehicles don't need it.
Which vehicles does it suit?
This kick down kit suits the Defender (up to 2016), Discovery 1 and Range Rover Classic running the V8 with automatic transmission and the four-barrel carburettor conversion. Confirm you have both the conversion and an automatic gearbox before ordering.
