Transmission Oil Cooler - heat exchanger in the automatic transmission cooling circuit, mounted in the front cooling pack alongside the radiator and condenser.

Automatic transmission fluid is routed out of the gearbox through the cooler feed line, passes through the cooler core where heat is rejected to the airflow, and returns to the transmission. Holding fluid temperature within range protects the clutch packs and the valve body from heat-related wear and loss of shift quality.

Applies to the ZF 8HP70 / 8HP76 eight-speed automatic transmission.
