Handbrake Conversion Kit - converts the drum-type transmission brake to a disc and caliper arrangement on the rear output of the LT230 transfer box.

The standard transmission handbrake uses a drum and shoes on the transfer box rear output flange, where it is exposed to mud and water and loses effectiveness once the mechanism packs with dirt. This kit replaces that assembly with a steel disc and a mechanically operated caliper.

The caliper mechanism is sealed against the ingress of mud and water and runs sintered pads, which resist abrasion from grit. The disc is 10 mm thick steel and smaller in diameter than the standard drum, so it does not hang below the transfer box and is less exposed to ground obstacles. The caliper is mounted at the top of the disc, away from the worst of the mud and standing water. Components are finished in zinc passivate for corrosion resistance.

Fitting instructions, including adjustment and use, are supplied with the kit.
