Antiluce cotter, also known as a drop latch, used in the tailgate retention hardware of the rear body assembly.
The stepped pin passes through the latch plate mounted on the body and drops under gravity into the slotted plate on the tailgate, holding the tailgate closed. Lifting the pin releases the latch and allows the tailgate to drop.
Stainless steel construction for use in this exposed rear position, where the original latch pins are prone to corrosion and wear.
