Bottom radiator hose from the engine cooling circuit, carrying coolant between the lower radiator outlet and the water pump inlet on the 3.2 and 4.0 litre V8 petrol engine.

This is the low-side return leg of the circuit. Coolant that has given up its heat in the radiator core passes through this hose back into the pump, which drives it on through the block and cylinder heads. The hose is moulded to a set shape so that the run stays clear of the surrounding ancillaries and cannot kink under engine movement, so a correctly formed hose is required rather than a straight length of tube.

Rubber cooling hoses harden and craze with age and heat cycling, and the bottom hose is additionally exposed to road debris and standing water. Renew the clips at the same time, refill with the specified coolant, and bleed the system fully afterwards.
